Two days ago, I watched Mufasa: The Lion King. What a beautiful movie! When we think of great leaders, fictional characters aren’t often at the top of the list. As leaders, we can learn valuable lessons from unexpected sources. Today, let’s explore three key leadership insights from Mufasa, the iconic character from The Lion King!

1. Exhibit Leadership Qualities Before the Role.
Mufasa demonstrated leadership traits long before he became king. Even as an outsider, he showed courage and compassion, earning the trust and respect of his adopted pride. Even before his reign, his wisdom, compassion, and courage naturally made him someone others looked up to. Leadership isn’t tied to a position — it’s a mindset and a set of actions.

2. Take Initiative and Communicate Your Vision.
He shares his vision and leads his companions on a journey to the mythical land of Milele, articulating a clear vision of a better future. As leaders, we must proactively set direction and effectively communicate our goals to inspire others.
